Previously coated surfaces
– Surfaces previously coated with air drying varnish should be lightly abraded with sandpaper before applying Woodguard.

By brush and spray, with light sanding between coats to improve adhesion

Drying times
: Touch dry: 4 – 6 hours Overcoating: 16 – 24 hours

Spreading capacity:
Spread rate will vary considerably depending on the type and porosity of the timber. For first coat application to smooth/bare softwoods, a spread-rate of 8m2/l should be achieved. The coverage will increase when treating hardwoods. A spread rate of 13 – 15m2/l dependent on substrate can be expected when re-coating smooth timber.
